Project Background:
- Uses natural forces (e.g., wind) for fresh air
- Reduces energy consumption by 10–30% compared to mechanical systems
- Improves indoor air quality
- Enhances comfort and health
Objectives:
- Implement sustainable ventilation strategies such as: Bubble sheet, Roof coating and supercoating, Window ventilation, Turbo ventilation, etc.
- Propose sustainable ventilation system to the Drawing hall of Academic Building ‘B’ of SSVPS’s College of Engineering, Dhule
Description:
- Sustainable ventilation strategies reduce energy use while improving thermal comfort & IAQ
- Combines passive cooling, stack effect, and wind-driven ventilation
- Monitoring data validates effectiveness for hot climates like Dhule
Outcome:
- Insulated covering (bubble sheet + asbestos ceiling) & coated turbo ventilator roof: Reduces indoor temperature by ~6°C & Enhances thermal comfort
Impact on the Society:
- Beyond technical success – tackles health, environmental, economic & educational challenges
- Proves sustainable ventilation works in Dhule’s climate
- Empowers communities to adopt eco-friendly solutions
